2 hour hike up the mountain, 7 hours in the mountain, 6 water filters installed, 2 hour hike back down. Those are the facts…..but let’s go deeper.
Today carrying rocks, buckets, equipment, and bags of sand, we hiked 2 hours up a mountain to install water filters in 6 homes. 6 homes that were drinking brown water that you couldn’t even see through, now have clean, clear drinking water. 6 families had Jesus shared with them today. 6 families that we had the privilege of sitting down with and getting to know. 6 families who when we asked if we could pray for them, they asked if they could pray for us instead, thanking God for sending us to give them clean water. 6 families who’s lives were changed today, but who changed ours as well.
The hike was hard, but the views incredible. The weather was hot, but the breeze fresh. We were sweaty and thirsty, but we had bottles full of clean water to drink.
Our stomachs were growling, but our hearts were full. Because we came to bless, but came away blessed beyond what those 6 families will ever know.
