Children of God
“Since we have a great High Priest who rules over God’s house, let us go
right into the presence of God with sincere hearts fully trusting him.”
It is our privilege as children of God to be able to go to Him, to enter into his presence whenever we need.
Just as you are always welcome into your family or good friend’s home, without even knocking or calling ahead, so as children of God we are always welcome to come to him. With relationship comes privilege. When you enter into a relationship there are different privileges, different gifts, that come with it. As children of God we have been given the gift of being able to come to him freely, to enter into his presence and open ourselves to him- without pretense, without an appointment, and without having to ask permission. We have already been given permission, it was given to us the moment we became his children. And it never expires! It is His gift to us, the gift of Himself. And he longs that we would take hold of this gift and dwell in his presence. He longs for us to be in constant fellowship with him, but leaves the decision to us.
How blessed we are that he has loved us so and given himself to us. To have him call us his children, to be able to come to him at any time and know that he will hear us and speak to us and care for us, we could not ask for a greater gift! “How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!” -1 John 3:1
